Penno – Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Penno collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who this policy is for
This policy applies to everyone who uses Penno, including followers, club admins, and verified posters. By using Penno, you agree that we may collect and use your information as described here.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Penno, we may collect:
- Account details (such as your name, email address, and basic profile information you choose to provide).
- Usage information (such as the clubs and teams you follow, pens you view, and how you navigate through the app).
- Device and technical data (such as device type, operating system, app version, and anonymous analytics to help us improve performance and reliability).
- Notification and token data (such as push notification tokens so we can send you updates from the clubs and teams you follow).
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the Penno app and its features.
- Show you a personalised feed based on the clubs and teams you follow.
- Send notifications when clubs and teams you follow publish new pens, including urgent alerts when enabled.
- Keep Penno secure, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
- Analyse usage in aggregate so we can understand how Penno is used and improve the product.
4. What clubs can see
- Clubs and teams may see follower counts and basic aggregated insights about how their pens perform.
- They do not receive your private contact details (such as your email address) through Penno.
- Clubs may also see information you choose to share publicly on your profile, subject to the features we support.
5. Sharing and third parties
We may share information:
- With trusted service providers who help us operate Penno (for example, cloud hosting, databases, and push notification services), under appropriate data protection agreements.
- When required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Penno, our users, or others.
- In an aggregated or de‑identified form that does not reasonably identify you, for analytics and reporting.
6. Your choices and controls
- You can choose which clubs and teams you follow, which controls what appears in your feed and which notifications you receive.
- You can adjust notification settings in your device’s system settings and, where available, in the Penno app.
- You may be able to view, update, or delete certain account information from within the app.
- If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data as described in our data retention practices, subject to any legal obligations to retain some records.
7. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as necessary to provide Penno, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take steps to delete it or store it in an aggregated, de‑identified form.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features, legal requirements, or improvements in how we handle data. When we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, such as updating this page and/or providing an in‑app notice. Your continued use of Penno after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
9. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, you can contact us:
- In‑app: via Settings → Help & Support → Contact us (or your final wording), or
- Email: support@penno.app (replace with your real support email).
By using Penno, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
